PNG is a lossless format, which is why screenshots, logos and graphics with transparency look crisp — and why they are often far heavier than they need to be. Compresso rebuilds the PNG with an optimized colour palette and the smallest lossless encoding, then keeps whichever is smaller without ever crossing the visual-quality line. Transparency is preserved.
On interface screenshots and flat graphics, savings of 60–80% are common with no difference you can see. For complex photographic PNGs, the built-in pixel check makes sure detail is never smeared — if quantization would be noticeable, the exact lossless copy is served instead.
